Description
Certain marbles and limestones have bigger pores and more microcracks. Epoxy is a synthetic glue that fill the pores and microcracks, making the stone more durable and shine better. It also prevents dirt from trapping into pores and microcracks.
After the surface is thoroughly grinded, a mixture of epoxy will then be applied on the surface and evened-out using a thin silicone wiper/scraper. The epoxy mixture normally requires a minimum of 8 hours drying time with no foot traffic during this time. It is a transparent liquid and it is not suitable for cavities bigger than 5mm diameter.
Suitable For
Helps to fill pinholes in porous, cracked stones and provides additional coating to protect and preserve the stone from aging. It also increases the shine of the stone.
This process is not necessary for stones that are not porous, especially granite and compressed stones
